Any Problems with Aluminum RV frames Ralph Lachenmaier 7-15-07
I am looking at buying a Fleetwood Class A gas motorhome. Probably a Terra LX or a Bounder. I am concerned about the durability for the aluminum structure in the walls, etc. Several other manufactures use steal. Has anyone heard of problems (such as screws pulling out of the aluminum or excessive rattles) in any of the Fleetwood products.

I have a 88 RV class A with aluminum frame. I found that the frame will oxidize at the contact point with the steel frame of the bed. I had to do some extensive repairs to re do the contact as the whole body was dropping down since it was not connected to the frame anymore. Very costly. Plus side is Aluminum is much lighter than steel and at $4.00 per gallon of gas or higher that is a plus on the MPG side.
