New rv'er need help by Michael

My wife and I are long time campers but new to rv'ing
I have a 1975 midas.It has had some very cheaply done repairs to it, that (must be repaired) so far every thing works,but the converter will hum/buzz when every thing is off?? I have to turn a light or something on to make it quit. Is the converter bad or hooked up wrong ""ANY CLUES""
If anyone has any ideals, Please let me know
Is there any shop manuels or books on these rv's (where could I get parts)
I live just outside of OKC
