1981 Fleetwood Prowler HELP Youngest RV owner 6-28-05
I just purchaced a 21ft 1981 Fleetwood Prowler. I don't have the owners manual, so it is making it very hard to understand the rig. The electic works when i plug it in, but for some reason the battery does not work. After I purchased a new one. Now there are 2 batteries do I have to buy another battery? Is that why it doesnt work? I believe 1 battery could power that trailer. I could be wrong. Plus is it possible for the gas regulator on the outside of the trailer go out? For some reason I can not get the pilot light to stay lit? but if i turn the burner on inside and light it with a match it ignites??? Any help with this or know where i can get some information on my small but mighty trailer would be helpful. Please email.

Ah,another case of innocent abroad,as far as your elec. condition you may have a bad converter/inverter.Check and make sure your batt.is charged, you"ll need voltmeter, for this and other uses. Install the batt. and go in the trailer and turn on a light,if it works you have elec. flow,if not you"ll have to "spark chase" your wire from batt. on in. Make sure connections are clean and wires aren"t cracked, when you reach a component use the voltmeter to check for elec. current. If no current is present remove the part and have it bench-checked at a service center.

Hello again, propane problems?, with the stove it might be easier.Remove the top of the stove and make sure all the ventports are clean. You can do this by taking a needle or paperclip to clean out the small holes.Next you make sure all flow tubes are in alignment with burners, you may have small screw adjustments near your pilot,if so make sure they move a little. These are your pilot height adjustments, make sure they"re open, but not too much.Turn on the gas and light the pilot. Also there maybe a wire near the pilot that connects into the stove, this is a thermocouple, place it in the flame of the pilot. When you light the pilot you may have to hold the flame on the wire and pilot for a while, but not too long! The thermo. controls the gas entering the unit, if no heat is present it shuts off the gas.(yes gas regulators go bad).
