Dual tire air pressure maintenance Garrett Browning 5-15-05
This seems like it should be such a non-issue but it's driving me nuts. I'm a new owner of a Winnebago Minnie with dual rear wheels. It looks to me like the inflation valve of the inner tire is extended to the outside for convenient checking and maintenance, but the inflation valve for the outside tire is inside the wheel pointing in! I'm just curious why it would be designed this way but more interested in a convenient way to put air into the tire. I bought a dual chuck gauge and that works fine to slip inside the hub and over the valve. A truck tire specialist who does all of Hansel RV's(Petaluma, CA) brake, wheel and tire service advised me NOT to install extenders (they leak and fail, he said). I had the bright idea of buying a portable 12-volt compressor and attaching a dual chuck valve but can't find a portable compressor that will accept one. I'm sure there's an easy answer to this -- YES?! Thanks!
