I looked at a Monaco diesel pusher today that I liked a lot. But, it had a lot of delamination spots on it. A real bad one around a window that I didn't like the looks of. What do you do to fix delamination problems?

De-Lamination is when water/moisture/air has gotten between the fiberglass/alum siding and the interior insulation of the RV. If the underside feels spongy or crackles then you have rotten wood under it. If it still feels firm and solid that may not be the case and it just came unglued. To repair the unglued problem you drill a 1/4 inch hole in the siding and inject glue into the problem area and press the siding back on to the interior foam. Then using a fiberglass repair kit, patch the hole and paint the area with matching paint. If however you have rot under the siding you need body repair skills to do it your self or be a good handy man. I had that problem with my 88 Class A 35 footer. I removed the fiberglass siding, rebuilt the under area with new 1/8 inch panel, 3/4 inch foam, and 1/8 in panel. New braces to reattach siding to frame, etc. I did find that fiberglass siding runs upward of $67.00 per runing foot. I use poly prop. 4 x 8 sheets 1/8 inch thick. costs $20.00 per sheet, lots cheeper. Glue that to the underside and then paint the whole unit after sanding down with standard, enamel latex semi or gloss house paint. Now it looks good. If you dont have the skills get some one who does as its not easy work and you need the right tools to do the work. I learned a lot the hard way.
