New kids on the block Bob & Debbie 9-6-04
What I would like to know is what I could expect to spend on a 6 month trip starting in Fl. Going to CA up to Washington back to NY and down to Fl. Again. I have calculated the mileage and added about 10% for fuel, Worked out a food budget. I do not know what to calculate for overnight and one month stays at parks etc. or repairs and that sort of thing. We are looking for our first Class A or for that matter motor home ever. We did have a 34 foot boat that we lived on for 6 months and enjoyed it for four years so I know we can deal with the space issue. I am retired and on fixed income now so I do not want to extend myself and find I am short cash half way through the trip. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Alot of trip review sites Mapquest-goodsams will also give you a avg. price for fuel-the passport america campground membership offers a reasonable rate at alot of campgrounds www.passportamerica.com you might want to consider joining a road service plan goodsams ers plan or one like it offers your towing at no cost.goodsam also offers 10% discount at select campgrounds www.goodsamclub.com in texas we paid $13. a night was a nice place. good luck

Welcome to the wonderful world on RVing and long distance/time travel! We traveled for a whole year and wrote a book to help others learn how to plan their dream trip of a lifetime. Check out our website - we have a MS-Excel template with every possible cost you could incur on it! It is meant to be a good checklist so you don't forget an expense -- and, as you say, run out of money!

Please feel free to email me with any questions after you've had a look around.
