The standard towing for most Dodge Caravas is 2000lbs, Unless you have the optional towing group which allows you a towing weight oh upto 3800lbs. Keep in mind these weights include the occupants and load in the van.
I have recently returned from a 10,000 KM round trip to BC, towing a 14ft 2200lb trailer with my 2002 Caravan SE,with 3.3 engine, and towing package. The van pulled this trailer with little effort, hardly realizing there was a trailer. I would like to step up to a 16 or 18 ft trailer. What would be the safest maximum weight that I could tow with my van.
Hi i have a 1994 dodge caravan se model im planning to purchase a fleetwood open trailer. with a weight load filled it says 3100 pounds i need to know if its ok for my van to pull it without dammaging the transmission.

I was wondering about the towing weight capacity for a 96 dodge caravan
4 cyclinder.. i want to take a cover wagon on the road, with weight of about 500 plus the trailer itself.
Would it be safe to pull a 6x12 enclosed trailer with 25 bags of softball equipment?
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT, with a 3.3 liter engine and the short wheelbase.
Thanks
I just spoke to the Dodge Dealer here.
I have a 1998 Grand Caravan AWD, with load leveling, I requested what parts I would need to get the "Towing Package" He listed the HD Radiator and Trans Cooler, Thats all. Parts came to about $500.00 of course I could get these parts at Autozone for less, but with out the knowledge base behind the purchase, I still may just go with them and get the good stuff. BTW, I want to tow a 3500lb boat to the ramps locally.
I've been reading the posts about towing with a Dodge Caravan. Any information anyone has for answers to my question(s) will be greatly appreciated.
I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan, 3.8 liter engine, no Tow package. Maximum trailer weight, according to manual and tow local dealers is 2000 lbs. Maximum trailer weight with tow package is 3500 lbs. I want to get a T@B trailer that lists at 1650 lbs unloaded and 2000 lbs loaded. Dealer advice to me was to forget towing this trailer, or if I did, it was at my own risk. What I would like to know; is it possible to add components of a heavy duty tow package? and what are the components? If this repeats what I said to author of msg, I apologize. I thought this msg might be seen by all.
I have a 2005 Caravan with the six cylinder engine (3.3l?). Will I be able to pull a boat and trailer out of the water with this van? Obviously the angle of incline of the loading ramp will be a variable. Boat and trailer together weigh 2800 lbs. Answers would be appreciated.
