New shop height Mark 1-2-04
Want to buy a big Class A in the next few years but I am going to build a shop to house it in first. What is the maximum height clearance I should have?

Maximum height: The sky is the limit, pun intended.

Mininum height? For me it would be about 18' at the eaves. This would allow you to install a 14'X 14' electrically operated roll up door, one that rolls up like a window shade, not the type that rolls 14' back into the building.

Why so big a door and electric? Presently vehicle width is limited to 8'6" and the height to 13' 6". a 14X14 door will give you plenty of room to walk past the vehicle on either side if it's centered in the doorway. If you've ever torn an antenna off the roof you'll understand the height suggestion. And if you've ever seen a door that lacked 1" being opened far enough you'll understand why the electric operation.
