Condensation on Windows Syd Cooper 1-1-04
Hello-
We recently moved into an RV where we will be staying for a number of months. We're having a problem with condensation on the windows causing mold and, at the window near the bed, the water is such a great amount it seeps through and dampens the sheets.
It's really becoming a problem. We can't keep an top-vent open because of the amount of rain this area recieves on the coast.
Any advice in helping prevent condensation would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
-Syd

The condesation is caused by the moist inside air hitting the cooler window and turing to water. i think you have two options. 1. purchase a small dehumidifier 2. it's not as pretty but you might consider some window wrap....clear platic taped around the window to form an air barrier. simular to what you would have with insulated windows for your home. hope this helps. scott

Please be sure that your furnace and other gas appliances are venting properly. These items can generate a ton of moisture along with the carbon monoxcide.

I have a small ranch home(1000 sq. ft.) Every morning, I have to wipe the condensation off all of the windows, then put on the dehumidfier for most of the day. What else can be done to elimate the problem?

My husband & I have recently purchased
a forty year old home. The condensation on the windows forms:
1) first thing in the morning
2) I cook anything
3) sometimes during the night
Can you give us an answer to our dilema? It is a three bedroom home, with a basement. We heat with gas & also have a gas cooking stove. We have an air conditioner, for the summer. The windows are newer, with some of them being inserts. I hope this will help you to answer our question. Thanks, Marilyn
