Found a 19ft. Dodge powered Starcraft Motorhome in unbelievable condition. All original fabric, carpet, etc. with all the manuals and info. This is my first MH and want to find someone with knowledge of this particular unit. Can email pics.
Are there any of these left?
Thanks,
Mike
Needed to know the blue book of it, owned it for 3 years and slow restoration project, just wondering if its worth, really like style all original in good shape.
Is it too late to get excited about 1970 starcraft motorhomes ? I just purchased one in maryland. Serial # S-2000132, mft, 05/01/70 Mine is in less then pefect condition but it mainy needs make pretty work done to it.
Interestly, I call Starcraft in the midwest and asked to speak to the company historian or archivest. I was transferred to Bob in customer service who has been with starcraft since the early 70's. Starcraft adimently refused to admit to making these motorhomes as their records show they did not start building them till 1972. I have a poorly mimeographed copy of the sales buyers brochure for 1972. Bob didn't even know starcraft had a plant in Decatur, Il, where mine was manufactured. So, now their are 4 of us.
I MY SELF HAVE JUST BOUGHT ONE. THIS IS MY FIRST MOTORHOME TO. MINE IS ABOUT A 20' STARCRAFT 1970. MINE HAS A 318 DODGE ENGINE IN IT. IT IS A CLASS A AND IAM TRYING TO FIND SOME PICS ON IT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE INSIDE OF ONE TO SEE HOW THE UPPER BUNKS GO. MINE ARE MISSING BUT I HAVE THREE HINGES ON EACH SIDE OF THE WALLS. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR ANSUERS.
My husband and I just purchased a 1972 Starcraft motorhome (24 ft.) It's in great shape - just need to get it running. Would appreciate any info. out there on this model
Good evening Michael:
If anyone can help, It's Me. I was VP of engineering for Starcraft from 1964 to 1972. I personally handeled the purchase of Venture Motorhomes in Banning California. and we Developed the New 19' Starcraft from there. Due to management problems there we closed that plant and Moved our production of the new unit to Decatur Indiana. I think I have picture proofs for the literature and so on somewheer. I can tell you most anything about this unit and how they were built.
I left Star and was a founder of Rockwood in 1972.
I retired in 2003 from Owens Corning
Fabwel Division and am now doing consulting work in the RV Industry.
My Cell number is 260-894-1674
Just wanted to let everyone to feel free to contact me with any questions on any of the molded Starcrusers from 1969 to the mid 70'S.
One thing that I'v found in the past is that some people feel the front dinet, when configured for sleeping, is short.
This is not the case. When converting for sleeping. move the back on the parelle links into the highest position and then fold it down forward and this makes a longer bed.
Thanks:

I have 3 of these Starcraft RV's. One is the infamous Hotrod RV that was built at Tucci Hotrods in Marcy, New York. The other 2 are for sale. Google Hotrod RV and you'll find a site that shows the Hotrod RV.
