|HAVE A 1998 COACHMEN LEPRECHAN 30FT WITH A FORD CHASSIS V10 TRITON. EVERTHINGS GREAT BUT A CONSTANT WHINE FROM THE REAR END AT 45 TO 55 (RIGHT WHERE YOU DRIVE) COACH HAS 55,000 MILES.|

First thing to do is to get the unit nice and hot and drain the old gear oil. Replace with new oil as per the vehicle spec. The extreme pressure additives in the gear oil do wear out and a change would be beneficial. If the whine goes away be happy. If not drive for a few hundred miles and chenge the oil (gear oil) again, make sure you look for metallic particles in the drained oil. If no particles, replace the gear oil with redline synthetic gear oil. Redline synthetic may help.
Second, write a letter to Ford and let them know how happy (sarcasm) you are. At 55K you shouldn't be having noise problems...
