Aristocrat Land Commander Andy 10-10-08
I found my grandparents old Aristocrat Land Commander (not sure of the year, late 60's maybe?) trailer at a church camp ground we used to always go to when I was a kid. The camp isn't using it for anything and I think I want to get it from them and try to restore it. It would obviously have a lot of sentimental value besides being really cool. I'm an uber-novice at this (never done it before) so I had a couple questions.

First about the brakes. Does anyone know what kind of brakes a late 60's Land Commander typically had? Electric?

Thanks for any help.

I purchase a late 60's Land Commander trailer recently and am still trying to figure out what I have. It was not titled and I think it is a 65, 66, or 67. If you learn anything or get any responses to your inquiry I would be interested. I can also share if I learn anything.

Thank you,
Ken

I have a 1969 Aristocrat Land Commander and my husband and I have done some work to get it ready to use... One of the first things we did was put new brakes on it. I don't know all the tech details of that so you can e mail my husband and I am sure he would love to tell you. Donpwood@cableone.net
All I know is it is set up so a gauge is in the truck and it can be set at different levels because we haul it in the mountains in Colorado. As a matter of fact it is sitting in a campground in Deckers and we pulled it from Tulsa. We really love it... the kitchen works perfect with the original stove still in great shape. We did do some upgrades to the water tank and we set up a battery system so we can use some lights when we have no electric. Anyway, we are all about our Land Commander and hope you can rescue your grandparents trailer and get it working again!

We just got our Land Commander from our Son who just went into the Coast Guard.
We love it, it is very clean, straight and in great shape....We can't wait to put our own twist on things....What a great toy to play with. We can't wait to go camping this summer. Later, Tim
