Converted bus insurance Wayne Espy 1-23-99  
Farmers Insurance has jusy notified me that my recently purchased GMC 4104 bus conversion (1988) is not considered an insurable vehicle since it is not "factory-made". They are willing to continue coverage if I increase deductibles to $1000.
Would like to hear where owners of on-the-road conversions insure their rigs. Value, liability deductible vs premium, service response and any other comments would be helpful.

Does anyone know where I can get non-commertial insurance for an ambulance that I convertyed into an RV?

Ambulances make what I think are the best bases for a conversion to an RV. They already have the HVAC and beefy electrical systems and many even have generators and are diesel as well. I only paid $2K for mine.

1957 PD4104 insured through Royal Insurance (Formally Alexander and Alexander) 1-800-847-6925, under $200 per year, liability only.

Hi there my name is raymond edwards and i have a converted 4104 for about 13 years. i have dealt with several insurance companies and the best deal i have found is with good sam vip.liability only for less than 175.00 per year. thanks raymond
