MY INSURANCE COMPANY,ALLSTATE, SAYS NO WAY TO INSURE CONVERSION DIESEL BUS OR SCHOOL BUS. IS IT A PROBLEM TO GET INSURANCE ON THESE TYPES OF BUSES? I WAS GONNA MAKE MY PERMANENT RESIDENT IN ONE. RETIRE. BUT IF INSURANCE IS A PROBLEM ALL THE TIME, THEN I MIGHT MAKE A DIFFERENT PLAN.

I have a 1990 GMC school bus being converted into a camper. Looking for insurance in CT. I've heard of insuring it as a comercial vehical for non-commercial use, but am looking for an altenative.
Am in the same boat. ( or bus). Have just cancelled my insurance on 1982 Ford Bluebird. Seems anything over 20 years old, on wheels, is not insurable by regular comapnies ( in Canada).
My broker, Buckley Insurance of Richmond hill, found a 'facilator', Nordique Insurance, which would insure me. But, with a poor driving record in the past 5 years, my rate was 213$ per month. I choked onit.
I called GMAC insurance and there was no problem getting insurance for a 1990 internal 40' school bus. I first went to the DMV and register it as a 1990 Internation Motor Home. Cost of insurance is $30. per month and GMAC know is was a bus conversion.

We have a 1979 MCI that we are converting to a luxury limo coach. It has a brand new fiberglass body on it. I am looking for information about insurance for this. We called one place and they said they won't insure a bus this old. Can anyone advice me as to where to go or what to do?
Need insurance for a 1990 Gillig Phantom City Transit Bus, ist to get it from Minnesota to New Mexico, then rip out the seats get RV plates,then I need insurance on it to drive around during the conversion process. Any help would be appreciated. Eventually bus will be fully liveable Class A MotorHome.
