Re: Occasional Insurance, Bus Conversion Donna 1-31-02
Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 1971 GMC Superior 1 Converted Bus for my band to do small occasional tours with. I can buy it relatively inexpensively, but I'm interested in how I can get it insured for occasional use, 3 or 4 times a year. Also if anyone has any idea what gas runs and what kind of license you need to drive it I'd appreciate the info.
THANKS!

Did you ever find out about who will insure a conversion bus. I have found a 1983 GMC bus that I want to buy. No one will insure it though.

Hi, I wanted to find out if you found anyone to insure your bus that you wanted to purchase. Also where are you located? I am in North Carolina now but work between Nashville, TN and here. Thank you, Gloria Jean

Put an RV plate on the bus. Call State Farm Insurance and get all your cars and home insured by them. They will also include the bus.
This will also make it possible to drive the bus on regular operators license.
