Hi JO,
I bought a cheap 5 speed on E-bay a couple of years ago. It was a W56 model. Be careful not to buy earlier transmissions (Lxx) because their input shaft bearings are too small and they are not reliable.
I live in San Jose California and google searched all over Northern California and found a fantastic Toyota transmission rebuilder in Fresno named Marlin Crawler:
www.marlincrawler.com. He overhauled the 5 speed and installed it for $1500 in my Sunrader. In addition, because we are talking about a 4000lb rv, he lowered 1st and 2nd gears so that when I take off in 1st gear, I no longer get clutch chattering. An excellent job and the new 5 speed has been reliable so far after 15k miles.
