What are top mfg's of Class C motor homes? Jess 2-21-06
Searching for used Class C. I am totally unfamiliar with the names and wonder which manufactures of Class C's are the top mfg's in the industry, truly reputable, dependable, making quality products?

I read of Gulfstream, Chateau, Thor, Winnebago Mini, Four Winds, Fleetwood, Itasca,Coachmen, Forest River Live (??),Jayco Granite Ridge, Jamboree 23E,Safari, Kodiak, Harney Coaches.

Is there a good web site for searching out information about these makes and the companies?

Again, any help will be GREATLY appreciated. I'm flying blind right now and am leary of responding to any ad, because I don't know if it's a work horse, Cadilac, Mercedez, or Geo or Suzuki I'm looking at. :c)

Beginning a search for a motor home is a daunting challenge and a bit fearful experience. I'd rather trust those who are actual owner-operators with experience (good AND bad) than listen to any sales person or dealer.

Much gratitude,

Jess & Bonnie

We have had a Class A for about 10 years. We just ordered a Lazy Daze class C. This was after considerable study. They have one of the highest ratings of any class C. They are located in Montclair, Ca. and only sell out of the factory. Check them out and if possible make a trip to the factory and have Ed ( the owner) escort you thru. He is extremely knowledgable. Hope this is helpful.

I have had two Born Free Class C. motor homes, and found them to be the 'top of the line'.

My second one had 338,500 miles on it, which I used for teacher training in churches. Unfortunately, it had to be parted with 8 weeks ago, when it burned to the ground.....possibly due to add-on wiring (NOT by Born Free).

I am now looking for another one, but would highly recommend this one to you.
Their factory is in Humboldt, Iowa, and you can see their website by going into Search at : Born Free Motor Homes

I hope you will consider them if you have not already purchased a motor home.
