I have a 27 ft. Travelmaster 86 w/460 v8,have been having trouble with overheating. It has been getting worse each trip, 250deg.at highway speeds this last trip. I changed the fan clutch, lower rad. hose, therm. to 180 flushed rad. new coolant, 40 below additive, new belts, new rad cap. I seem to have good cir. in the rad. after the therm. opens but I wonder if I might have a blockage in the Rad. that is causing the problem at highway speeds. I tested the fan clutch by rotating the therm. spring 90deg. counter clockwise which keeps the fan running all the time and the temp stayed at 185 to 192 but it was loud and it shook the camper. Any ideas would help. Is there a way to check the Rad. for blockage. Thanks, Roland
The only thing I would know to do is take the radiator out and have it rodded by a rad. shop. I would ask how much it would cost to have that done verses buying a new radiator. You covered evrything but making sure the fins aren't smashed in any places or the front of the radiator isn't clogged up with bugs.
