Hey Kevin,
From what I've found out Toyota chasis are no longer used for RV applications due to liability issues. The Toyota drive train and chasis frames are not stout enough to haul and pull heavy loads.Remember these are the little Toyota trucks that are being used for RV conversion. People try to tow heavy loads anyway...thus causing various problems. Some of the problems i've seen are damaged rear axles, and in extreme cases bent or bowed frames...which causes the RV body to give / bend. I saw a Toyota 22' RV that the frame was bent and it caused the door to jam and cound not be opened...Also the Roof / side had a bad water leak. Toyota RV's are ok as a Light duty RV...LOL...but who actually wants a RV that you can't use for towing...not many...
Perhaps Toyota's newer truck..the Tundra could be used. Maybe the Nissan Titan. |
