I am looking for a 83-up Lesharo. Perfer diesel. If you are a prior owner your comments would be welcomed.
thanks, A. van Hoek
I have a late 1984 turbo diesel Le Sharo for sale. It was part of an estate sale. The old fellow who owned it has kept it in excellent shape. It runs, looks and drives great. Just don't expect to go anywhere in a hurry or tow anything heavy. I always drive no quicker than 50 mph. The Le Sharo certainly is under powered but that is what you get when you want excellent fuel economy. If you need engine parts, you can order them through Chrysler. The 2.1 litre turbo diesel engine is the same one that was fitted in the mid eighties Jeep Cherokee turbo diesels. The diesel injection system is made by bosch. I had no problems getting the bits I needed from my local bosch dealer. I had my diesel injectors rebuilt for about $60(cdn) each x 4 = $240(cdn). And new glow plugs for about $20. each. A lot less than what my Winnebago dealer quoted me, mind you they will gouge you for everything no matter what you drive. If you want to find someone to fix your le sharo, find an auto mechanic who works on European cars in particular, french cars. The rolling chassis of this vehicle is based on the renault trafic, a utility van that is a common sight all over Europe and the UK. Your typical GM/FORD mechanic will probably gouge you more because of his unfamiliarity with this type of vehicle. If you are interested in buying my Le sharo send me an e-mail.
It's a great R.V. and needs nothing. |
