I am from Phoenix and they sell in the $7,000 to 8,000 range. I would avoid LeShara at anyprice, as service and parts are difficult to find. A law suit between Renault and Winnegago resulted in Renault charging four times the fair makret price for parts. Renault has no dealerships in the U.S. anymore, so make sure you can find a qualified person to work on them. I have had dealers advise me to stay away from them.!
Try calling several RV dealers and ask them what they would pay you for a Lesharo and pretend you have one for sale. Most will not even talk to about them buying it.
Ours was the worst vehicle we have ever owned, most expensive to repair, and the Winnie people ranged from very nice to very rude. We will never buy a Winnie product again.
I tell everyone what a lemon they are.
The repair people overcharge and some outright lie about the parts they claim to have put in.
If you are bound to masterbait with the claw side of a hammer, I would not pay more than $3,500 tops for a perfect 1986 Lesharo. They will break down at the worst times and you will be stuck. At $3,500 you may part it out and recover part of you money.
Just the name LeSharo makes me cringe..Im a mechanic and have one of my customers who owns an 87 4 cyl deisel w/turbo and the 4 spd stick transaxle . He likes it for the fuel mileage..but as for performance and reliability..the engine is underpowered and you cant keep a driveline in it ..constanly changing axles and tranny parts. Parts are mega expensive .. just a front axle was 325.00..a used tranny 2400.00.
He cant find anyone other than me to work on it here..I dont know what that says about me.. lol. Also most places that do work on it are in the 70 dollar an hour range. Nothings easy to work on and parts are getting very scarce for certain things on them.. if you buy it Lorene keep the price very low..I wouldnt go over 2000.00 for it .
Hope this helps . Don.
I need a Manual for an 86 Turbo Diesel LeSharo.... Im sure the folks at Renault had a good laugh when they saw what winnebago did to their van.. i can hear them now... "those stupid cowboy americans with their 30lb oak cupholders... wait till they come crying for parts" Ive worked on VWs for years and so far the Renault engine looks fairly basic and easy to work on...wish me luck AND A MANUAL!!!
