Do all evap coolers have a roof reservoir? I would like to supplement my A/C with Evap at the other end of the coach, partly because it would give me the exhaust function plus a quieter, DC only alternative. Where I camp, there is never any humidity, but they don't allow generators after dark.
Does anyone know the basics of the different models?
I don't know, but I suspect so. Our Recair does. Current draw on low is at least twice that of our Fantastic Fan on low, and it is much moisier. Still, it is quieter than the air conditioner.
Note that the evaporative cooler will humidify the air enough to make it more uncomfortable than without - once it has been turned off. Using air conditioning, it can stay comfortable long after cycling off. We use mostly the FF, but have found the Recair pleasant to run in hot,dry weather during brief roadside stops - such as while shopping - to keep the inside from warming up. Also useful for brief lunch stops.
I'm glad we have ours, but it was not an active choice - it came with the motorhome. Since it is not old, it suffers from rust and the need for frequent maintenance, which the air conditioner does not.
I need to get parts for my unit and can not find the address or e-mail for Recair does anyone know it. Thank you Do all evap coolers have a roof reservoir?
