Has anyone looking for an alternator for a LeSharo considered installing any other alternator that would mount in place of the frenchi one? The standard GM alternator with a built in regulator requires one connection to the battery, two wires going outside one to the warning light and the other to the starter keyswitch. Both wires are available already. I do not know if the GM will mount in place of the Renault but I am sure that a mounting bracket can be fabricated. I did this for a Toyota Corolla 3TC engine that I installed in my VW camper. When you have "weirdo" cars and I consider the LeSharo one of them you have to improvise and I bet that looking in a junkyard I can find some alternator that will fit in this car.

Fes1@aol.com is the email address for FES. ALSO... Well the problems of working with Foreign Engine Service is over. Mike Onstott the old owner of FES died last year about September 2001 right after I was ripped off by him. When I took my Le Sharo back for the 1000 mile service Garry the shop mechanic was buying FES from the estate of Onstott. At that they went out of there way to fix and set right the wrong that Onstott had done to me. I have since gone back to FES and have had very good service from Garry Courter and his shop. I would recommend FES to anyone now, but I could not do that before. posted 8-26-2002 Larry Shaver

Like to purchase a repair manual for 85 la sharo; also if any one may know why the vehicle operates as if the choke were on; it floods down with black smoke; any info appreciated
