||NO these units can bearly hold their own weight of the motorhome, much-less all the added extras we as owners throw into them. If you want to tow a car buy a bigger fullsize unit. Even though people try to tow with these. Some even say they have without any problems (none ever had to stop on a dime that's for sure). Don't be fooled into doing it. Only a fool hearted person tries to save a few bucks on gas to tow a car with one of these. Understand gas is cheap and renewable (fill-er-up) your life and others on the roadways you place at risk are NOT!
Because of people trying to tow and add too much weight to these units... Toyota pulled the plug on selling to builders of motorhomes! (people towed and added too much weight the problem? Loss of control, wrecked units and then these same people sued Toyota for their foolish acts. And won!) Use your unit as it was intended to be used. Watch your added weights and keep your holding tanks below 1/4 while traveling.Enjoy the unit...If you need a car rent one once you get where you are going. Better yet.. Ride a bike and these can be mounted on the front bumper never the back!
