I would like feedback from owners of Toyota based motorhomes. It seems they hold up well, but I'd like to hear from those with experience. In particular, I wonder about gas mileage on V6 models. I understand the 4cyl types get 15-17 mpg.
Pete, I have a 91' toyota v6 with itasca spirit by winnebago 92'. this summer i drove it just over 6,000 miles. I bought it used (74,000 mi.) in the rio grande valley, texas 6 mos. ago. we have had nothing but great fun with it. mileage ranges from mid 14 to mid 15 - average even in mountain areas like colorado and wyoming. the engine is toyota strong and burns clean even at 81,000 miles now. it was used so i expected some repairs:
1. warped exhaust manifold
2. front shocks
3. tune up
4. steering box
5. ac, alt and water pump belts
6. a spare
7. new roof top ac
8. new door dead bolt - pervious owner lost the key
hope this helps.
