Dynamax REV 24RB exceeds RAWR Mark in FL 2-18-15
My Ram Promaster based Class C has a door sticker that says not to exceed 9350 lb GVWR. Dynamax also placed a sticker with Dry Weight 8024 lb, Cargo Capacity 1108 lb. The dealer filled gas, propane, and water when I bought it. I went to DOT scale Front Axle 3540 lb + Rear Axle 5220 lb = 8760 lb which is less than 9350 lb GVWR. My problem is my wet weight with no cargo is only 60 lb less than 5291 lb RAWR. How can I possibly carry 5 - 150 lb passengers unless they all sit on the front axle? They may be able to sit in the 4 belted seats in the back if I dump all water, propane, and gas before driving?
Re: Dynamax REV 24RB exceeds RAWR BUBBA THE BUS TECH 2-19-15
A secret the RV industry won't admit:

All motor home chasiss go down the road overloaded all the time. The GVWR is the absolute minumum possible and is all about price point.

GVWR is a slippery term, Chrysler will tell you it Means Maximum Allowable Mass. The RV Dealer will use the word "Rating" and try to make you belive too exceed this is no big deal. CAUTIOn WILL ROBINSON!

Water weighs almost 10 lbs per gallon so call it 300 lbs of water. So thats capacity for two of your lighter than average freinds. We always recomend you cary the absolute minimum amount of water.

I haven't had a Promaster based unit in the shop yet but most small motor homes like this use air bags or overload springs to cover or hide the overload condition. Air bags help for handling, stability and ride quality.

My advice, Run the tires at the highest pressure recomended on the side wall, be sensible about the overload amount, drive carefully.

By the way, unless you sue or the equivelant they wont do anything about this.
