|85 itaska phaser no warning lights on dash work except oil and the gas and temp. do not work either also the oil light does work and stays on but when you pull the e-brake it gets brighter a online mechanic says it sounds like dash ground and to take a ground from battery to dash but that did not work also there is power all across the back of dash and the ground is there as well|

|I am sort of going to agree with the online tech.|
The symptoms scream ground issue, I am allways leary of running second grounds to something as it often disguises an underlying problem. It is allways better to find your problem and fix it than Bypass it.
The big diference is I think your engine block has a ground issue to the chassis.
It is important that there are independent grounds to and from, Engine, Chassis, Body, Battery. Most systems ground everything to the engine block and from there to the battery.
So if your dash is not grounded to the engine block properly it will have these sysmptoms, but it is not that easy. (Of Course)
It is likely grounded from the dash to a common ground point on the body. The body will be grounded to both chassis and engine block, some Renault based RVs ground from body direct to battery instead. BUT the problem,I think, lies in the ground conection path from dash to engine Block and then to battery as that is where all those indicators ground to.
