ENGINE JAKE 1-22-11
Most of the ads so far feature the Ford 450 Triton V-10 engine, from around 24 feet to 31.5 feet coach.

I would like to hear from those who own this engine, what your average gas mileage is, how is the performance, what you like and dislike about this engine, and is it big enough for a 31 foot coach. I am fearful of buying something that will spend lots of time in a shop. I could not afford that. Can you drive cross country with confidence with this engine?

Thanks for your honest reports
Re: ENGINE mike 3-31-11
I have a 2007 class c with the V10. its been good so far. 36000 miles. only 9 mpg though. 10 max. our 87 ford 460 got 7mpg. 20 years and they could only give us 2 more mpg. they must be in bed with the oil companies.ford seems to own the class c market these days though.

I would drive it anywhere. yes its big and powerful enough for a 31ft. down shifts alot in cruise though. not the problem with the engine i dont think, its more the way the cruise is set up.
