I have a Platinum membership to CRA (good at all facilities) that I purchased when I lived in Nevada two years ago. I paid a little over $9000.00 and am not willing to take a big loss on it yet.

My mother (who is in her 70’s) recently purchased a transfer membership to CRA. When she drove to Parker, AZ to complete the transfer paperwork (which they require you to do so they can subject you to a two hour high pressure sales presentation), the sales lady told her lie after lie. One of her lies was that once she completed the transfer, my mom would NEVER BE ALLOWED TO CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP – EVER! She was told that she would be obligated to pay dues until her death even if she no longer wanted or needed the membership - THAT'S WHAT MY MOM WAS TOLD; NO EXAGERATION. The sales lady talked my mom into buying a new $5000 membership instead of paying $800 for a simple (and adequate) transfer. This sales lady (she and one other lady handle all of the transfers) is a SHARK and will not hesitate to LIE or COERCE anybody (especially helpless elderly women on a very tight budget) into buying unwanted/unneeded features. Even after I had spoken with management and been informed that memberships can in fact be canceled after two years without further obligation or penalty, the SHARK was still calling my mother trying to convince her that SHE WOULD BE TRAPPED FOR THE REMAINDER OF HER LIFE and she should keep the $5000 membership.

I also purchased a transfer membership at CRA some time back. When I went in to complete the paperwork, I was also BLATENTLY AND BOLDFACELY LIED TO by the sales person (the other one). Obviously CRA encourages its sales staff to engage in this type of sales strategy. Fortunately, I am not an elderly lady whose husband recently passed away, and it’s not so easy to slip one by on me. Unfortunately, my older mother isn’t quite so business savvy. When I called the sales person’s manager regarding the lies that were told to my mother, HE WAS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UNAPPOLOGETIC about the slimy tactics used by his salesperson. He was in fact put off by my complaints. It is clear that CRA IS STRICTLY INTERESTED IN GETTING THE SALE: WHATEVER IT TAKES.

Unless you want to be SWINDLED, LIED TO and CHEATED, DON’T BUY A CRA MEMBERSHIP. Don’t buy a new membership, don’t buy a transfer membership, DON’T BUY ANY KIND OF MEMBERSHIP.

IF YOU IGNORE THIS WARNING, I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LEARN A VERY UNFORTUNATE AND COSTLY LESSON THE HARD WAY. If you have even considered purchasing a COLORADO RIVER ADVENTURES membership (transfer or new), please walk away. Don’t support the lying, misleading, high pressure tactics utilized by an underhanded company.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD – YOUR FRIENDS WILL APPRECIATE YOU LOOKING OUT FOR THEM.

We are looking to sell our membership, totally paid off, we just never use it anymore, we have access to all the spots on the river, emerald cove, northshore resort, el golfo, lake havasu, yuma lakes resort, would sell it for 3,500.00 if interested still, email us.
