I am just wondering how many of you have had an original contract that said when you transfer your membership that the contract could not be changed unless agreed upon by the seller / buyer. I am in the process of receiving a transfered account and in the original contract it states that they can not charge a transfer fee of more than I think its 5% of the original cost. I have received the transfer agreement and they have changed the contract as to when I decide to transfer or sell there will be a $750.00 transfer fee. This is not binding to the original contract i am curious as tohow many other members they have done this to. According to my attorney this is not legal. Please let me know if any one has had simular issues.

Considering one offer already received but much less than the advertosed $4500 - purchased for more than twice that amount. Motivated to sell, so will consider best reasonable offer.
I want to get rid of my Thousand Trails/NACO membership purchased in 1985. The transfer fee is about $375 with an annual membership fee of about $550. We have not used it in years and I just want to get rid of it before the annual fee is due in January.
Please email mail me your phone number and I will call you and we can discuss the details. I am not interested in making money, just getting rid of it.

Thousand Trails,NACO, and Leisure Time Resorts nationwide camping memberships, which offers camping and recreational opportunities at more than 65 locations from coast to coast. This is by far the premier camping membership organization in the United States, offering wonderful ameneties, full or partial RV hookups and rental accomodations including cabins, cottages, yurts and camping trailers. For more information, visit www.thousandtrails.com. You may also call Thousand Trails Member Services at 1-800-388-7788, or the Transfer Department at 1-228-497-3594.
The numbers of the memberships being offered are 189289220. Annual dues for this membership are $560 for 50 days, or $1260 for UNLIMITED USE.
The transfer fee of $1000.00 is required by Thousand Trails. The purchaser must pay this directly to the company. The Transfer Department can confirm this fee and the annual dues (1-228-497-3594). Again, the transfer fee is NOT included in the sales price.
This membership entitled us to stay at any Thousand Trails Preserve (32), NACO Resort (19), and Leisure Time Resort (7) in the U.S. The Alliance means that we could make reservations farther in advance. We were able to go from resort to resort without any days out! Our stays in a resort were up to 2 weeks without extra charges. Upgrades are available through the company. Additional campsites are available through a membership in Resort Parks International whose membership is available separately.
As soon as payment is made to me by The purchaser, I will call Thousand Trails and supply them with the name, address and phone number of the buyer. Thousand Trails will send the transfer paperwork to us, we will sign it, and then I will send it to the buyer. Once the buyer forwards the transfer paperwork AND the transfer fee to Thousand Trails, the transfer will be finalized. The whole process usually takes about three weeks.
Payment may be made via paypal or cashier's check, and must clear my bank. but I must receive payment within 10 days from The purchaser.
If you go to timesharesonly.com and type in 1129473 it will give you more details. I paid $9,000 July 2005 and it has all the "bells and whisles" including perferred access. They just added encore and have bought up RCI.
