NC Mountains - camping Mary 9-20-98
I'm trying to get some information on 2 campgrounds in the NC mountain area to camp in. We usually go to Bear Den on the Parkway and enjoy it but are exploring some alternatie site closer to different attraction? Has anyone ever been to Silver Creek Campgound close to Hendersonville? Any comments? What is the campgound like and the facilities? Are the sites private? Or are there any reccomendatins for a nice g\campground close to Chimmney Rock State Park? We enjoy wooded areas and lots of privacy. Has anyone ever been to Raccoon Holler Campgound in Glendale Springs. Its off the Parkway. Any comments would be appreciated. Or any other suggestion for nice camprounds in the Boone/Banner Elk area.

The best place I know of to look for campgrounds is the Trailer Life Campground Directory. There are lots of real nice campgrounds in North Carolina. Send off to their State Tourism Office for camping information - you will get a real nice book about the various areas of NC along with motel and camping info for all the towns listed.

Our family own and run the Black Forest Campground in Cedar Mtn. NC, 12 miles S. of Brevard.
Our area is full of beautiful waterfalls, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, etc. and is between Asheville and Greenville, SC. Our campground is on Hwy. 276S. The Dupont State Forest is only 4 miles from here, Pisgah Forest is 20 miles and Caesars Hd. State Pk. is 3 miles.
Our campground features sites for RV's, tenters and we also have camping cabins. See our web page..
