We're working on the same issue now. A couple of years ago I made plexiglas inserts for my windows and secured them with glazing putty. It worked pretty well, but occasionally pulled away from the window casing. The following year I secured the plexiblas inserts with silicone caulk thinking it would pull out easily at the end of the season. It held very well through the season **AND** after. Getting the silicone out was a bear of a job. Right now we're looking for thermalpane windows as a retrofit. The hunt is proving to be very tough. Have you seen anything on that subject? |
