Hi, I just had a question. I came across this lake today on a motorcycle ride and had a few questions. Hopefully you could answer them or hellp me out. Do you need a membership to put a boat on this lake? Can anyone use this lake?
Has the litigation with the Sundance campground been settled. If so, are you selling memberships at this time. If so could you please give me as much info; as you can. re cost of membership/anual dues etc; Is there access to the lake and do you have parking for boats year-round
Would appreciate an rarly reply,
Thankyou
Don Swift.
What is the status of Sundance Meadows and Vail Lake? Are there any current legal issues about the ranch and or lake?
Are the owners of Vail Lake Resort suing for lake access? Are they the same owners or family of Sundance Meadows owners? I don't know the validity, but I was told that there was some type of infighting going on between the new fancy upscaled Vale Lake Resort and the beautiful but rustic Sundance Meadows over usage of the lake. Sundance claims total control of Vail Lake, and the Vail Lake Resort was promising the usage of a lake which is in their name but they have no access to use... Is any of this true?
Are there other legal problems dealing with real estate licensing or the lake? What happened regarding the civil liability imposed by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board #2001-188 against William P. Johnson/Vail Lake for $422,200. Was that for polluting the lake for $600 days?
What happened to the quality of the lake?
I am just curious what is the latest information regarding Sundance Meadows and Vail Lake. Is it going to go on the way it is or is the situation going to change because a change in land and lake usage?
I have 5 acres for sale 1 mile from the lake if anyone is interested...
I updated some of the pictures on the site if you want to see them.

My family and I love Sundance Meadows. The lake is a bonus. We bought our membership 3 years ago. You cannot buy one currently except on re-sale. We have been considering selling ours as we are moving to Colorado soon and not sure how much of a chance we will have to use it on an ongoing basis. They are a Coast to Coast organization though, so may end up keeping it for that affiliation. That is dependant on what kind of offer we might get.
Myself and my father are both members of Sundance Vail Lake. You DO have to have a membership with Sundance to be allowed on the lake, they are NOT selling memberships do the the litegation (with some JERK that is trying to gain access to the lake). It is currently owned by the Water District (as I understand it) but Sundance Vail Lake currently is the only one with rights to the lake usage. They only allow boats on the lake and it is mostly only catch & release due to environmental consideration. Until the Sundance/Vail Lake/Johnson etc. is solved there are only privately sold membership available..you basically have to know somebody that wants to give it up (like I was lucky to find) :) BE CAREFUL what somebody tells you. There are 2 memberships that were sold...Sundance Meadows which only has access to Sundance (the campgroud) and Sundance Vail Lake which has access to both the lake and the campground...that is the biggest issue being considered in this litegation and that is why they currently cant sell either!
