28 years in California and the BEST campgrounds for the money are the County and State campgrounds. Camping = Freedom in many forms. Noone needs to park 4 ft from their neighbor, corralled by signs and fences and POW symbols of restrictions. Heck, you can find that in an apartment building!

I absolutely agree. We visited them by car last year, and can't wait to leave the East coast and take the RV! How lucky you are if you are close by!

Do you know how to find out if there are any of these campgrounds in Sacramento? I am going there next week and would like to contact them.
