Hi:
I have an 1988 Winnebago Elandan with a 454 and T400. I would like to install a 6.6 Duramax and Allison T1000 transmission. I know there is a minor clearance issue with the Allison (on the top-side around the middle). Can this swap be done? Would the Duramax fit on the existing engine mounts? Another option would be to go with an 8.1/Allison OR 7.4-8.1 with a heavy-duty 4L80E. The goal is power, torque, efficiency. I have insulated the entire cab/engine area and floor in order to lower road noise. Thank you! |
