I know I'll probably start some sort of war, but here goes.
I'm looking for reccomendations on buses that are great for a conversion. I need something that has
good parts availability, automatic, 40 feet or so.
What should I be looking for? Which engines are best? I don't want a rust bucket,
so I would like a bus that has little rust problems. I also don't
have a bank vault in my back yard, but can spend a
reasonable amount, and will do all
the work myself. Please help. Also, is there a magazine that has buses for sale?
Thanks
For me the prevost is one and only, you can get parts reasionable & fast from prevost, if you do a good conversion you not lose money and be driving down the road while other are looking for repair parts Ilove mine. I know I'll probably start some sort of war, but here goes.

OK! Im an Eagle nut. BUT You have to pick a rig you can work on..They all have pros and cons ie do you want to raise the roof? cost and availability of parts? auto and p/s or not? and bang for the buck?! I love my EAGLE and my friends all love their MCIs nad GMCs contact me and I will be happy to discuss and debate all your questions.
Absolutely right--assuming you want to repair a rust bucket. Beware of eastern Eagles that have been run in areas where salt is used on roads. Another item of interest is the cost of replacing any of the torsilastic suspension parts. It could break the federal reserve system. Be sure you have someone who knows what to look for BEFORE you buy, otherwise you could really be in trouble. Eagles are the only way to go!
But I might be a little crazy
about them. They seem to be a little classier then the rest. With the exception of Prevost.
