Removing the forward radiator Ben B. Wolff 5-26-99
I'm looking to remove the forward
radiator and heater core by the driver
area. Is there any cooling problems
I will have to contend with when using
the Detroit 8V-71? I know that there is
two different valves back in the engine
compartment that I am guessing were used
during the summer months to keep the A/C from
having to work as hard. Any info would be
appreciated. Thanks

I closed the valves on my 4905 and the next trip the engine over heated..... do you have any thoughts it this was caused by the valves or was it because it was 90+ degrees and would over heat anyway....what do the experts think???

The foward drivers stuff is very nice to have to heat the driver as well as defrost.
The radiator is NECESSARY for the air cond system as the ac output is not modulated[switched on & off like in your car]
If the factory air is gone close both isolation valves on rear bulkhead , drain antifreez in can[sweet tasting to animals and POISONUS]then rip out what you want.

The bus won't care if you remove these items but how will you defrost the windshield???
