Is it possible to make an 8-71 into an 8V-92
simply by adding the turbo and plumbing?
Or is there alot more to it. I have a contact
that has a turbo that is supposed to fit my
8-71, but I'm unsure if it is a simple bolt on
affair -- or the engine has to be built to accomodate
the additional pressure. Any ideas? anyone?
anyone?... Ferris?

Oh but you can turbo an 8V71. Yields about 350HP with 70 injectors. Anmswer to original question is no you can't turn an 8V71 into 8V92. Reason - the 71 stands for 71 cubic inches in each cylinder. Same for the 92. More horsepower from the 92 series engine because its just plain bigger and sucks more fuel. BTW order of preference for dependability is Series 60 (the new 4stroker), 71 series and then the 92 series.

Can you give more details on turbo retrofit 8v71 (other than change cylinders etc.) also do you know horsepower and torque for turbo and non turbo models? THANKS
