What is different externally 8v71 to 8v92. Both come non-turbo, don't they? Straight mount in MCI.
A non-turbo 8V92 is a rare bird, but if you could find one it ould bolt right in place of an 8V71. The only difference externally is the front pulley/balancer and probably the size of the flywheel housing opening. Natural 92's had problems with the reduction gears for the blower failing.

As Geoff inferred, a turbo 8V71 is very rare and a non turbo '92 is even more rare. Blocks appear similar. Serial number on engine will tell you if you still have a question.

What I meant is when you look into an engine bay, what are any spotting differences. Is the 71 always green, and the 92 always silver? We have a MC-8 with 8-71 that is red. Jack
