Has anyone here removed the air leveling system from their MC9?
I am looking for help on how exactly to do this. I was at Fred Hobe's site and he says what you need to do it but doesn't say anything about how to do it. We're kind of up against a schedule; we're leaving for a 7 week trip in 3 weeks and we're having trouble airing up. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just bought a 1983 MCI 9 -- so we have the same bus. I've been removing the luggage racks and side panels -- will be removing the bathroom soon -- so haven't gotten to removing the air leveling system yet. If I find out anything, I'll let you know. If you have any other contacts with others who have MCI 9s, I'd like to contact them and share info as we go. I'm thinking of taking out my floor, but there's lots of steel in it and I'm wondering if anyone else has done that.
The mc9 has a air beam made into the frame above the rear air bags. Due to rust and road build up around these areas they leak. MCI makes a repair kit plate to install at the top of the bags to air the bags from these plates instead of the air beams. The leveling valves are also famous for leaking.
