Removal of Factory Air (GMC) Tanner 6-3-05
I would like to remove the factory air heat and make room for a generator in that particular bay. Is there anything I need to know before removing. Are there any parts/pieces that are required to keep the bus functionable ?

In ref,to taking out the heat and air from the belly turn the heat supply and return valves off in the engine compartment and rip r out under the bus. when all is stripped out if you want to keep the windshield defroster and that working, cap the lines that went to the old heater and I recommend silver solder as for strength in a joint. I have a 4905 and it worked real well for me.

Tanner, I wouldn't do this. My 4905 is missing that system and therefore has no factory heat coming from the engine. What to do in the winter? Engine heat is basically free, that motor has to run so keep it. Put the generator one bay back or so, Now I have to come up with a system somehow myself, still taking up space someplace. All the best, Keith
