Flxible Chris 5-18-01
This is a tire question. I purchased a 1970 35" flxible transit bus from a church. It has two different size tire on the rear. One side has 22.5 duals and the other is 1000-20 duals. Which one is correct size. Thank you.
Re: Flxible +tires FAST FRED 5-19-01
The 10.20 is the old size {usually} bias ply tire.

The 22.5 is thw newer size.

You should check the year of Mfg. and toss any that are over a decade old.

And be sure to check they all are the same diameter, or the largest will get most of the weight.

With enough phone calls I was able to find new, steer , 22.5 for $230 each, mounted with tax.

If the coach is too slow it is also done to find 24 inch wheels and gain 3 or 4 mph on top speed , but this is expensive , and heavy lifting.

BE sure to advise the "tire guy" if the coach has left and right lug nuts , coaches do trucks usually dont .
STOOPID tire guys will break every stud off with their 1000 lb air wrench.

TORQUE the lug nuts on YOURSELF ,
yes it costs $200 + for a used 600# torque wrench , but the problems avoided cost way more!
