I have an old Newell with aCummins 555 and Allison MT 650 5 spd auto. I believe the trans doesn't automatically use 1st gear...It starts out in 2nd. Anyway the 3-2 downshift has always been very hard. I took it to an Allison shop. They adjusted and put new dexron in it with no improvement. I recently put 15W-40 oil in it also with no improvement. Anybody got any ideas on what I could try next?
