I have been watching the web for the usual MCIs for sale. 1980 to 89 MC-9, MC-8, 96A3 or 102A3s. Will be a conversion ( a LONG term project /hobby)
Living in Southern California desert I constantly get the “don’t buy anything from the East coast or the North”. The rust and corrosion thing. However, it seems most rolling stock for sale is located in those areas.
ABC bus sales in LA for instance has much newer coaches and much more $$$$ than I want to spend.
Sawyers Bus Sales and several other places I found have a large inventory at pretty good prices but... they are on the East coast
So I need some feedback, is the West Coast VS. East or North that big of a determining factor in what or where I buy? With so much stainless steel being used should I be more concerned with drive train etc. than where ever the bus comes from?
Thanks
