I have installed quite a lot of aftermarket Stewart Warner guages and am not familiar with what you mean by 6-pin. Most guages need (1) a light feed for the internal lighting,(2) a ground,(3) a 12-v steady off the ignition switch,(4) and a wire to the appropriate sensor.I can't picture a need for 6 connections. I would contact Stewart Warner. Have any numbers off your guages handy.

I Imagen you have already figured this problem out but the 5 of the 6 wires should be:

1. ignition Positive
2. Constant Negitive
3. Light Neg (aka Const Negitive)
4. Light Positive
5. Sensor wire to the sending unit
6. ?

or read it all from Stewart Warner at:

When you say a 12v steady off of the ignition switch what wire do you mean? Do you mean connect to the wire that goes to the HEI distributor that says battery?
