I installed the liquid systems and the drain pipe fitting coming out of the black water tank leaks. I have tried to fix it for the second time...I am using 3" pipe and one of those rubber grommets to attach to the side of the tank. Those rubber grommets are not good for this application...not a tight enough seal. I completely gooped the seal up with silicone and still it leaks. Any tricks for this? Seems like there should be something that can tighten up to seal the hole in the tank...Please help if you know.
Nasty leak!
What type of tank are you working with? poly? abs? pvc? wood? metal?
new or used tank? Forget goope for that type of application.
If used abs, it may have hairline crack. Poly tank: the fitting need to be spung on. Auto body shop supply carry a glue made by 3M (panel bound 8115) will bound about anything. Don't need a gun, just push each piston the same distance, mix the glue by hand & apply with a small spatule.

I'm not sure you can get any adhesive to stick to polypropylene.
3M Panel bond is recommended to adhere steel and alum. to each other.
There two other adhesives for most plastics, but they don't mention Polypropylene.
If you have the room. I would try bolting on a 4' closet flange (Toilet flange) With a rubber gasket and stainless screws, nuts and washers. You could get your fingers inside the tank with the 4" opening then reduce it to 3" if necc. If you have difficulty holding the nut inside the tank, glue it to the end of your finger and turn the screw,
