My 871 in my gmc coach sat a few years due to family illness.now upon starting,it wants to keep climbing rpm's until i have to trip the emerg air shutoff.any idea where to look or what the problem is?I disconnected the throttle but it goes anyway.help!

You have a stuck injector

Don't start it until you pull the valve covers and check the injectors they may be varnished from setting so long I hope that I could be of some and that I told you the right info good luck ernie

The governor is stuck wide open or is broke. The governor is what controls the top end rpm's of the engine.
