Airstream trailer Roger Layton 11-10-07
Hi there
Any chance of an opinion on the following:
There is corrosion around the rivets in the center of the trailer at the back and along the horizontal line of rivets on the sides of the trailer. This corrosion is also on the rear light fixtures. Corrosion is noticeable on probably 5 or 6 rivets spaced along the length.
I believe it's electrolysis and I am wondering if you have any suggestions on how to eliminate it.
Is it common for corrosion to occur on these aluminum trailers?
Sure would appreciate a reply.
Many thanks
Roger

Hello.

Would like to hear about experiences of individuals who utilize their Airstream trailer as a year-round residence. What kind of work do you have to do to the trailer to make it liveable year-round? Is it factory-insulated for all-season living? Can an external source of water be hooked up to it? Or would the water pressure be too high? Would you need special fittings? Etc. Also, is there a solar panel you can employ to generate power for DC appliances in the Airstream?

I would like to purchase one to live in, but don't want to invest $$ if it's not a workable possibility.

Thanks!
