I am looking for anyone who has restored a vintage silver streak camper. We purchased a 1969 silver streak and are attempting to restore it but we need some questions answered. If you can please help, I will be very greatful. Thank you.
I have a 1974 30 foot silver streak and am attempting to fix things on it before I start restoration. For example I replaced the gaskets for the black and grey water tanks YUK!!!!
the black water tank still is leaking and if I have to replace the entire valve mechanism then I am stumped because I can see no way to get at it with out tearing out the bed and the bedroom floor or cutting away the aluminum outer shell. Can anyone tell me how to handle this properly?
I believe you will need to remove the underbelly panels for access. I am by no means an expert but plan on doing so to mine so that I can add a gray water tank.
Jillian, These trailers are anodized. I would guess that your aluminum is not severely oxidized, but that is the original factory anodized finish. They aren't supposed to shine like an Airstream.
I just Purchased a 1978 34' Silver Streak and just started the restore process. The front two corners under the plexi glass windows are shot. Any know if this is usally caused from leaky windows or from the under belly?
I am restoring a 1965 Silver Streak 24' camper. The previous owners painted the gold colored aluminum band around the trailer with some kind of Red paint done with a brush. They also did the front window cover and door and window frames. Any suggestions on getting it off?
