I just Purchased a 1978 34' Silver Streak and just started the restore process. The front two corners under the plexi glass windows are shot. Any know if this is usally caused from leaky windows or from the under belly?

Jillian, These trailers are anodized. I would guess that your aluminum is not severely oxidized, but that is the original factory anodized finish. They aren't supposed to shine like an Airstream.

I have a 1966 Silver Streak Sabre 23 and will replace the black and gray tanks as I rehabilitate the original plumbing system. Does anyone offer tanks for these trailers? Any info would help me here in Yucca Valley, Ca.

Thank you in advance!

I have a 1973 Continental Rocket with extremly oxidized aluminum skin. Anyone got any good remedies for that?

I believe you will need to remove the underbelly panels for access. I am by no means an expert but plan on doing so to mine so that I can add a gray water tank.

I have a 1974 30 foot silver streak and am attempting to fix things on it before I start restoration. For example I replaced the gaskets for the black and grey water tanks YUK!!!!
the black water tank still is leaking and if I have to replace the entire valve mechanism then I am stumped because I can see no way to get at it with out tearing out the bed and the bedroom floor or cutting away the aluminum outer shell. Can anyone tell me how to handle this properly?

Sincerely,
Dina Puckett

I am restoring a 1965 Silver Streak 24' camper. The previous owners painted the gold colored aluminum band around the trailer with some kind of Red paint done with a brush. They also did the front window cover and door and window frames. Any suggestions on getting it off?

We've been bringing everything back to working order after a hard freeze ruined the plumbing, fixtures and toilet. So far, so good except...
There is a Therm'x 326 heater on the wall by the door with a pilot light that won't stay lit. I feel certain the thermocouple sensor has failed as I can watch the pilot flame go out the moment I release pressure from the start button. *bummer*. Would anyone know where to get a replacement sensor for this, apparently French made heater. (It may very well be the catalytic type, but the pilot light and sensor are visible inside the grid frame where I can watch the pilot light burning and then instantly going out when I release the button.)
Are all thermocouple with similar thread sizes able to send to the gas controller? If I tear into this and remove the sensor, is there any likelihood a furnace repair shop will be able to get me a replacement?
Thanks to who(m)ever :)

Is there a way to remove the window operator on the side windows of a 1967 Silver Streak without removing the window from the camper?

The rear underbelly has some corrosion. When it rains the water runs into the corrosion and the underbelly causing more corrosion. How do i repair the corroded holes so that water does't get in??

Silver Streaks are not meant to be polished to a mirror like finish, its Anodized Aluminum!

We just acquired a 1976 Silver Streak
Supreme Luxury Liner when we bought some property. The exterior is not in bad shape, but we are missing the stove and refrigerator in the kitchen. Any leads for replacements? There is a queen size mattress on a double size frame in the center of the coach.Pictures I have found show 2 twins. is this just a variation. I want to restore as close to original as possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am trying to figure out where a leak in the black water tank is in a 1976 Silver streak. Do I remove the skin under the belly and just rivet it back into place? Is there a kit that repairs the tank?

Restoring 1979 silver streak rv looking for any info on it
Re: Restoring Silver Streak Camper Sean 10-5-17
Thinking about buying a silver streak Clipper 1958 it needs to be completely redone and I think one or two of the outside panels will need to be replaced along with the underbelly. I have found panels for airstreams but my impression is they are shinier than the silver streaks panels. Any idea where you would get panels to replace the outside panels on a silver streak.
