I need to replace my door latch in my 1978 land yacht.

Patricia, I hope you are sitting down! A new door latch for that trailer will run about $600! I sent mine to Inland RV to be rebuilt for half the price. You can check them out at www.inlandrv.com. Andy, the owner, is pretty smart when it comes to these trailers but he is a little rough around the edges to talk to. Still, a great guy that can help you out.
